Events Overview & Contact Information

What makes the Do-Division Street Fest and Sidewalk Sale unique is that all elements of this festival are local: the food, the vendors, the music, even the featured beer, Pabst Blue Ribbon, is selected based on it’s popularity in the ‘hood. Given the status of West Division Street as the hottest, hippest most cutting edge neighborhood in Chicago, the events’ 50,000 attendees wouldn’t want this festival any other way but local.

The Do-Division Street Fest and Sidewalk Sale is on Division Street from Ashland to Leavitt, and the 2010 event will feature two live music stages booked by Empty Bottle Presents and Subterranean / House Call Entertainment, a wide variety of high quality food offered by Division Street restaurants, plenty of ice cold Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, Barefoot Wine and sangria, retail, art and craft vendors, unique kid’s activities at the Family Fun Fest, and an elaborate Sidewalk Sale put on by Division Street merchants spanning 10 city blocks.

TWO Live Music Stages programmed by two great local live music venues:
Empty Bottle Presents & Subterranean / House Call Entertainment:

The Empty Bottle has bringing music to Chicago for over 18 years. Empty Bottle’s reputation for booking cutting edge and high quality music as led them to expand. Six years ago, they started Empty Bottle Presents to produce events at outside locations. Having the Damen Avenue Do-Division stage programmed by Empty Bottle Presents will assure that the talent line-up will feature very current, original live music of the highest quality.

Wicker Park’s Subterranean and House Call Entertainment will be booking the talent for the Leavitt Street Stage. They have a fantastic track record booking acts for other outdoor events such as Wicker Park Fest and Green Music Fest. Subterranean’s reputation for booking the most current music is also outstanding and their draw combined with Empty Bottle Presents will guarantee huge crowds of diverse local music lovers.

Chicago’s hottest, hippest ‘hood…

Division Street between Ashland and Leavitt is packed with trendy boutiques, salons, spas, restaurants, bistros, bakeries, coffee shops and cyber cafes. It’s wide, tree lined sidewalks give it a distinctly European feel. During warm weather months, there are over twenty sidewalk cafes in operation. West Division Street’s restaurants and bars all have one thing in common: high quality in all price ranges.

Food, Fashion, Fun…

Division Street’s restaurant choices can satisfy any craving including Thai, Tapas, Sushi, organic pizza, comfort food, Mexican, Northern Italian and award winning fusion. And, from the ‘cheapest beers in Chicago’ to some of the best wine selections in the city, Division Street has plenty to offer imbibers. The Division Street area is also home to many of Chicago’s fashion designers, which may explain Division Street’s multitude of  high quality clothing and apparel boutiques.

3. You can also drop off your package at the bar during the hours of 3pm - 2am.

4. Give them two to three weeks to listen to it. They get up to fifty CDs/tapes a week, and they do listen to them all, but it takes time. When calling to check on your submission, please remember to be patient. We try to get to everyone, but we get tons of demos, and even more phone calls.
